The four members of The High Kings are Finbarr Clancy, Brian Dunphy, Darren Holden, and Paul O'Brien. Talented instrumentalists, they play 13 different instruments among the four of them.
Each member of the group is a talented solo-artist and has an impressive background. Clancy is the son of popular Irish musician Bobby Clancy Jr., and performed with the legendary Clancy Brothers band. Dunphy was a performer in Riverdance: The Show and then became a member of The Three Irish Tenors. Holden starred in Riverdance: The Show. On Broadway, he played the role of Billy Joel in the musical hit Movin’ Out. O'Brien is the newest member to blend his voice with the group.
Tickets are $15 at the door, or can be purchased in advance for $12 at Raymond Pharmacy and South Bend Pharmacy. Tickets are also available on PayPal at www.sundayafternoonlive.org or by calling (360) 836-4419. The Raymond Theatre is located at 323 3rd Street; doors open at 1:15 pm. In addition to lush harmonies and sentimental folk ballads, The High Kings also perform rousing songs reminiscent of Irish pub music. Their success is evident by hundreds of sold-out shows, numerous television appearances, and multiple albums and DVDs. The group has performed on PBS and Live with Regis and Kelly, as well as international television programming. The High Kings were the headline act for the Mayor of London's Saint Patrick's Day festival. After seeing them play in Ireland, President Obama invited the group to play at the White House St. Patrick's Day celebration.
Exceptional singers and musicians, The High Kings represent the best in Irish folk music today. This concert should not be missed!
